To show a comparison of the similarities between the feeling of standing in Shibuya in Tokyo and Times Square in New York City, I decided to upload this photo of Times Square. Having spent a good bit of time in each, I can say that Shibuya has much to offer that Times Square cannot. Watching its crazy crosswalks and punk/goth kids who search for an underground identity in nearby Harajuku are unlike any experience you will find anywhere else in the world.
